Jack Bridge has an excellent shop near the Pennine Way so we had coffee before we left.
Moorland walking along with reservoirs and then a break at Top Withins, the derelict farmhouse which is reputedly the source of inspiration for Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. One thing that is unusual is the footpath signs in the area - I don't know if it can be seen in the picture but they are in English and Japanese!
On then to Cowling and a campsite before 6 O'clock - great!
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...

Your comments certainly read as though all is going well. You musy be well into the rhythm and routine by now and taking everything in (dare I say it) "your stride". what you write comes across as that despite rain and long days. Does time before this walk seem like a different life? I think my favourite photo' now is the one of Barney's head. Was he trying to hide or escape? All the best, Fiona
