Apparently it's election day! We elected to walk to Hay on Wye and what a superb walk it was! 10 miles of ridge walking in countryside like home in the north Pennines. It's the highest we've been so far at 2300ft.
We were joined by John who is walking Offa's Dyke and we were all able to stroll along a well made up path.
Arrived in Hay at 6 and were just walking out when I spotted staff in a cafe laughing at Barney with his panniers (he gets smiles wherever he goes). We make a point of giving one of our cards to anybody who reacts to Barney and they responded with a donation, 2 cups of tea and two slices of cake! All this and they were shut - many thanks to the staff of Eve Victoria cafe in Hay on Wye and may you have a successful time through the upcoming festival!
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...
