A restless night due to an army helicopter - not sure what it was doing but it was close at 1am! See sign pic in previous post. Jos was still up painting the scene from the tent before 7am!
High Cup Nick is one of the highlights of the Pennine Way and although one of our local walks it was exciting to approach from a different way.
Then we traversed moorland to avoid dropping down to Dufton and then having to climb all the way back up to Great Dun Fell. The weather closed in - not quite the warm sunny day previously forecast.
Eventually got to Greg's Hut and our first bothy of the trip.
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...
