A steady walk, first in rain then in wind to Hawes. The wind got so strong my rucksack cover was ripped off and disappeared!
After shopping in Hawes we moved onto the Green Dragon Inn at Hardraw - quite a pub. Included is the highest waterfall in England which you access by the pub!
Jos was disappointed that we missed an Irish traditional music session but we should be home for our next one in the Crown in Catton!
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...

Yes, a relief for me, too. I was assuming you either had no battery power or connections. It's even better to know that it was enjoyable events that were taking up your time. The weather has been and stiil is just as foul here. I don't kniw if you've heard but this day in 1975 Perthshire and other parts of Britain were covered in snow with cricket matches cancelled. If I remember rightly, that summer then went on to be scorcher so here's hoping. We're all in shock here at the news of Charles Kennedy's sudden death. We still think of him as our M.P.. You're getting really far north now. all the best, cheers, Fiona.
