Met up with friends Geoff & Wendy who helped us out yesterday. Today, Geoff took our bags and Wendy, along with their dog Meg, walked with us. Barney had a playmate!
After making our way out of Fort William (and seeing the steam engine!) we reached the Caledonian Canal which was followed to Gairlochy along the towpath. Not normal walking for Wendy who is more used to climbing the mountains around here! Plenty of activity on the canal however including an Australian who is cycling around Britain in 80 days!
Ben Nevis appeared out of the cloud just for us.
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...
