We are taking a few days off in order tomorrow give our (Bob & Jos) blisters a better chance of healing. Continued walking is slowly making matters worse and we are getting slower.
Barney's feet are holding up fine. Jos applies Mushers cream daily wbich is keeping his pads soft - perhaps that's what we need!
Our old friends Penny & Tim have kindly offered to pick us up Saturday so we can spend some time with them in Dorset. We'll be back on the route as soon as we can.
Up to now, Barney has walked 238 miles and collected over 1000 pounds for Guide Dogs but is always happy to accept more donations at www.JustGiving.com/BarneysLongWalk
Stay tuned!
Our Flat Coat Retriever Barney is walking the length of Great Britain with us starting 27th March 2015. The route is from Land's End to John O'Groats and is approx. 1400 miles / 2500km mostly off-road and will take about 4 months. We are doing it for fun but Barney has a mission - to collect money for Guide Dogs! Help him along the way - just click the donations tab to find out how...

Hi, sorry to hear the blister situation is not so good. Hopefully some days off will give good chance for healing and you will soon be on your way again. Rubbing lanolin into feet is supposed to help with healing and blister prevention.....possibly worth investigating!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the dreaded blisters. A couple of days off will hopefully see you right as rain again. Enjoy your days off.
