Barney by the fire

June evening and Barney's enjoying a fire.

In fairness to Barney

After the last post I am expecting all the 'you're taking advantage of / being cruel to' the poor dog posts so here's a Christmas one of me even more stupid...

Waiting game

It's a waiting game for Barney - both Bob & Jos are recovering from cough / colds they picked up just before getting back home and don't want to restart the trek until all is well.
In the meantime, here's a pic of Barney last Christmas. Notice Mr Fluffy the cat looking on disdainfully!

Crown session

We have both (Bob & Jos that is!) gone down with coughs / colds so are changing the day when we set off.
This means I can take the opportunity to post a few videos as we are at home and can upload large files.

Today we have some snippets from last nights monthly 'Irish' music session at our local pub, the Crown in Catton. Mary and Carol were on top form and the session seemed to get into a different gear as the sun set!
Barney, as usual, slept through most tunes!

Canal Walk

We were met by Lorraine, our coordinator with Dogs Unite (section of Guide Dogs) at Penkridge so she could get to know us and spend some time on the walk!
Here are a few videos of the day which took us along the Staffordshire Way using the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal towpath for a few miles.
The canal passes under the busy M6 which can be seen to the right of an otherwise very tranquil scene!

800 mile service

Barney was at the vets yesterday for a checkup and everything was fine.
Hadrians vets in Hexham are also collecting for Barney - many thanks!

Day 73 Galligill - Hudsriding

Phil dropped Joanna and Ben off and took our sacks so we could all have an easier walk home!
Daffodils still to be seen - they were nearly over in Penzance when we started in March.
Eventually got to Burnlaw where Rosie & Gary who we last saw in Monmouth laid on afternoon tea in the garden. No pictures I'm afraid as Rosie's cake was too nice!
Then on to meet Barney's friends before the steep climb back to home!
